The Alaska Alpine Club offers a six-week introductory ski mountaineering clinic each spring semester at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The Introduction to Ski Mountaineering clinic runs the last week of January through the first week of March; the 2017 Syllabus and gear list are posted below.

The cost of the clinic is $100, which includes an AAC membership for the 2018 calendar year.  If students want to receive 1 UAF credit, we can work with CTC to make this happen!

Many thanks to local mountaineering and running legend, Stan Justice, for coordinating this great class for so many years!  In 2018 the class will be run by Erica Lamb and Nick Janssen as a club class, rather than through CTC as in past years.  The content and format of the class will remain the same!

The class will be capped at 40 students for 2018, and you can sign up by filling out the form below.  After the first 40 responses have been received students will be placed on a waitlist.  Payment of $100 is due on the first day of class (January 25th), and if a student does not pay on that date then that spot will go to the first person on the waitlist.  Students will also be required to fill out and sign the club waiver on the first day of class.
